Antiquated Anachronisms
A modern take on old art.
I’ve always had a love of fine art. And juxtaposition.
As someone who lives a life on the far ends of most continuums, I have a particular enjoyment of the contrasts of life.
Which is probably why I have so much delight in creating images of public domain art with modern elements incorporated into them in a way that looks like the artist added them intentionally.
A woman from the 14th century wearing a Peloton top?
Yes.
A marble sculpture of Caesar from 600 BC with piercings?
Yes, please.
The author’s voice being that of a sarcastic and social-media savvy 15 year old?
Excellent.
I don’t post these regularly, mostly when I need a brain break or I feel like I have some ideas to expunge from the ‘ol noggin. And I really only do this for myself.
It makes me laugh.
I hope it gives you just a wee bit of delight as well.
